wins the first prize for Star Chef Hunt-Season 2
Star Chef Hunt-Season 2 was
launched by Spicy Village Rusayl on November 18 2011, coinciding
with Omans National Day.
From the 3,000 entries for seven categories that they received,
104 entries were shortlisted for the final event.
The judging panel of 12 members included experienced chefs and
culinary experts.
The winning recipes will be published in a special Spicy Village
Cookbook and offered in Spicy Village restaurants for a whole
year, with winners earning 20% commission on sales of their
dish!
The Winners Menu will be launched on March 11, 2012, at a
glittering award ceremony.
First, second and third prizes were awarded in each category,
ranging from LCD TVs, Microwave Ovens, Electric Rice cookers,
Spicy Village Star Chef Oman Shields . Consolation prizes were
also given.

prize for Starters Category.The prize was awarded for the dish -

LITERARY
AWARD : We are pleased to share the news that Sapna Anu B.
George, wife of Biju T. George of CETAA (Sr. Project Manager - STP
projects in Haya Water) has won the KYC literary award by Puthiyangadi
KYC cultural society for the NRI writers. She won this for her first
published poetry collection titled 'Swapnangal'. The award will be
presented to her next month by the Kerala state minister Mr. C.N
Balakrishnan. Congratulations to Swapna.

Athulya Gloria
Sajimon: A young poet
" Birds at Dawn" is a unique
collection of poems versed by a relatively
unknown child poetess Athulya Gloria Sajimon, an
11th grade student of Indian School Al Gubra.
She is the daughter of Er. Saji M. Lukose (TKM)
and Mrs. Shirly. Congratulations

, Muscat won 2nd runners up prize for the Oratorical contest ( Speech
Contest ) conducted by Bank Muscat & Indian Social Club ( Tamil wing ). There
were 76 Participants. She received the prize form former Indian President
Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam. Congratulations.

TKMCE- Kollam, NSS Engg.- Palghat, REC ( NIT) -Calicut, MACE- Kothamanglalam, and Govt.Engg
-Trichur, and Malayali Engineers Alumni
.Child/ Parent should
have been in Oman till 31st May 2009 to apply for the award.
Children who studied in Oman or
outside Oman can also apply. This year’s awards are for the children who passed out
of X th or XII th /Pre-degree in March/April 2009,with a minimum marks of 80%
only will be considered.
The last date for submission of the
application to the award committee will be
10.01.2010

Installation ceremony of
New KEF President Er.N.V Shenoy and New General Secretary
Er.Mohamed Iqbal was held at 7.30PM, on 23rd
October 2008 at Al Falaj Hotel. About 150 Executive family
members attended the function. The Outgoing KEF President
Er.M.N.Venugopal thanked all the members for their support
and co-operation extended to his team of office bearers. The
incoming President Er.N.V.Shenoy and his team of
members gave their action plans for the year 2008-2009.

OBITUARY
KEF, RE CCAA and GECTA deeply condole
the untimely demise of Mr.John
Sebastian, the eldest son of
Er.Sebastian RECCAA,
working with Tebodin and Mrs.Metelda Sebastain ( GECTA ) who
passed away in a car accident, early
morning, 29/01/2008.
He was
returning from Calicut city to NIT
hostel in his car with 5 friends, dashed against a
stationary Truck , near Vellimadakunnu, Calicut.
Another friend also died in the
accident.
He was final
year student at REC ( NIT), Calicut.
We pray that
God Almighty will grant strength to the
bereaved parents for this irreparable
loss and grant eternal peace to the
departed soul.

Intercollegiate Tournament for
Badminton, Table Tennis and Basket Ball will be conducted on
2nd and 9th November 2007
at Indian School Darseit (8.30 am to1pm and 4pm to 7pm).
Cricket Tournament is scheduled on 16th and
23rd November 2007 at BEC ground in Ghala (7.30 AM
onwards). Chess
and caroms Tournament will be conducted on 9th November 2007
at Indian School , Darseit
The general rules for the tournaments
are as follows
1. Badminton Tournament
The games included are: Men's
Singles, Men's Doubles and Veteran's Doubles and there will be a
separate championship for Ladies Doubles. Children can also
participate in first two categories. Participants can
participate only in one of the above events.
2.Table Tennis
Tournament
The games included are Men's Singles,
Men's Doubles and Ladies Singles. Children can also participate in
above events. Participants can participate only in one of the above
events.
3.Basket Ball
Tournament
This game is restricted for men. Children
above 12 yrs can also participate.
4.Cricket Tournament
Each college will have one team
consisting of 11 members .Each team shall have minimum one lady
member in the playing 11 and if a lady member is not in the team, 24
runs will be awarded to the opposite team. Children can also
participate but maximum number is restricted to three.
5.Chess Tournament
This event is restricted for children and
there will be separate championship for Junior and Senior levels.
(Junior-up to 12 years and Senior - above
12 years up to 17 years)
6.Carroms Tournament
The team should be a couple (One lady
member should participate)
