We have great pleasure
in introducing Dr Dinesh Krishna, Senior Lecturer
and Chief Examination Coordinator at Caledonian College
of Engineering a University College affiliated to
Glasgow Caledonian University, U.K, an Alumni of
NSSCE Palakkad.
Born on 12 February 1962 at
Kayamkulam, a beautiful town near Kollam, with a thermal
power plant contributing to the energy grid of Kerala
and later on he settled at Kallekulangara, Palakkad near
NSSCE. He is the fifth of 6 children of the late Sri. K
Upendra Bhakthan, District Health Supervisor, and Smt.
U.Rajammal, a housewife. One of his elder brothers is
Customs & Central Excise superintendent and the other
working in Canara Bank.
He had his school education
at Sri Vitoba High School, Kayamkulam, Pre-university at
Bishop Moore College, Mavelikkara. He did his Bachelor
of Technology in Civil Engineering from NSS College of
Engineering, Palakkad during 1979-’84 with First Class (honours)
and Fifth Rank. He completed his Master of Technology in
Structural Engineering with First Rank from Indian
Institute of Technology, Madras in 1993. He took his
Doctoral degree from Washington Int. University, U.S.A
in 2005 in Civil Engineering.
Immediately after his
Engineering graduation, in 1984, he joined NSS College
of Engineering, Palakkad as a Lecturer in Civil
Engineering department. In 1998, he Joined Caledonian
College of Engineering, a premier institution for
engineering education, as a Senior Lecturer and
continues to serve there. During 1984- ’98 he was
associated with design consultancy, funded student
projects and participatory projects under ‘Jankiyastrunam’
in Kerala. He had many technical papers to his credit,
published in International Journal and conferences. In
addition, he is a member of many professional
organizations like ASCE, MIE, ISTE, CIOB, OSE and
Structural Engineering institute, U.S. His field of
interest includes high performance materials, finite
element method and Computer Aided Design.
Dr Dinesh married in the
year 1990, to Smt. Jayasree N Pai, daughter of Shi.
Narasimha Pai & Smt. Somavathy N Pai, from Ernakulam. He
is blessed with a daughter and a son.
Daughter Ms Divyasree is in
standard XI, studying at Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Cochin,
after completing her CBSE 10th standard from
Indian School, Seeb. She was the school topper in CBSE X
board, 2007 and received the Academic Excellence award
of Tamil Wing of Indian Social Club Muscat.
Son Dileep D Krishna is
studying in standard VI at Indian School Al Seeb. He was
the winner of the best child Artist award constituted by
Indian Social Club in 2005 for the Drama competition.
