Kerala Engineer's Family Meet 1999 - Report

The first All Kerala Engineer's family meet, Muscat   was held on 14th October 1999 at Sheraton Hotel, Sultanate of Oman. About 550 people including children attended the function. The registration started at 7 P.M and The Meet started at 8.P.M.  sharp

The official part of the event started with welcome address by L.Srikumar Pai, Chairman of Main Organizing Committee. The representatives from different Engineering Colleges - Prof.Divakaran ( REC-Calicut), Mr.Cherian Saju ( M.A. College of Engineering, Kothamangalam ), Mr.Damodaran ( N.S.S College of Engineering, Palghat),     Mr. Joy.G.Pettah    (Govt.College of Engineering, Trichur), Mr.Ashraf E.M. ( T.K.M College of Engineering, Kollam ), & Mr.Navneeth Krishnan ( Govt.College of Engineering, Trivandrum ) presented the activities of their family group.

The Entertainment programme was started by the comperors Mr.Malcom Naronha and Mr.E.R Suresh. The first program was a group song  headed by Mr.Sasidharan  praising all the Engineering Colleges. The group song was written by Mr.Anil Kumar ( Aniyan Ezhuthachan ). He also performed a kavitha parayanam. After the group song , Bharthynatyam was performed by Miss.Parvathi. Folk dance was performed by Miss. Aparna. and Kuchipudy by Miss.Mamtha Pillai. One of the best attractions of the programme was Thiruvathira Kali by the ladies. Another attraction of the programme was a group dance by the children. It was a chance to prove that Engineers are also good singers .The audience also enjoyed the excellent songs by our lady singersAt 10.30 P.M Dinner was served. During the programme various lucky prizes including Gold coins were distributed. Vote of thanks was delivered  by Mrs.Usha Menon. The Meet came to an end at 12.30 mid night and the people left with sweet memories of the evening.
